DFA Passport Renewal Requirements 2019 Guide – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will work on a more permanent solution to address passport demands, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. assured the public on Monday.

Based on the Department Order No. 03-2019 signed January 15, 2019, DFA does not require the presentation or submission of PSA Birth Certificates in the renewal of passports, and instead requires only the submission of a duly accomplished application form and the old passport unless there is a change in the status of the applicant. eg. Marriage, Dual Citizenship, Surname.

Processing your DFA Passport Renewal
Step 1 – Make sure you are ready with all required documents before showing up on your appointment date. The required documents that all applicants must bring include:
Confirmed Online Appointment
Accomplished Application Form
Current ePassport with photocopy of data page
If there will be a change in name, bring Original PSA authenticated documents that will support your claim (if applicable)
Marriage Contract
Annotated Birth Certificate
Annotated Marriage Contract to show annulment/divorce/court ordered instruction
Death Certificate of Spouse
Step 2 – Pay the DFA Passport Renewal Processing fee

Step 3 – Proceed to Encoding section for photo and data capture This is the last step in the processing of your passport. Your photo is taken, your fingerprints are captured, and your basic personal information are stored in the system. Unfortunately, this could last a few minutes or some hours if there are several applicants also waiting for their turn. Some rules when taking the photo:
No smiling!
You must close your mouth, your teeth cannot show, and you must have a “poker-face” expression!
Eyeglasses and contact lens must be removed.
Look directly at the camera.
Step 4 – You are all set. Just choose if you want to pick it up or deliver it at your home. For those who don’t want to pick up your passport, you may choose to have it delivered straight to your doorsteps. You just need pay the delivery fee in the “Courier” or “Delivery” counter before you leave the DFA premises. They will inform you about the exact date when the passport will be delivered to you. Delivery usually takes 1-2 weeks after your application.
