Star Hotshots ended their PBA Governors Cup 2017 Elimination Round clinching the Top 4 and just booked the first ticket to the Semifinal Round after defeating again the NLEX Road Warriors.
Kris Acox (Import of the Hotshots) led his team with 21 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Paul Lee added 18 and Ian Sangalang contributed 14 to pace the Hotshots in the low-scoring ball game.
Star dominated the fourth quarter as they outscored NLEX Warriors 28-14, with a 14-4 run to gave them their largest lead ending the score to 89-77.
Concurrently, NLEX who ended the elimination round with a 7-4 standing had their best finish under coach Yeng Guiao.
Aaron Fuller, Alex Mallari and Kevin Alas led the scoring for the Road Warriors with 16, 15 and 14 points, respectively.
