I am also experiencing it since I started living in Lumina Homes Tanza Cavite lasy July 2017. Globe network is your best shot at connecting online but it failed miserably not even allowing pictures and videos to load in Facebook. That is why in the past week I researched for the best solution and that’s when I found out about Globe AT HOME Prepaid WIFI.

So this is the package you will get at the price of ₱ 1,999 and as you can see it already include a RJ45 cable for your Computer or Laptop. Which gamers like me prefers for faster connection. Its large LED icon lights are very visible at night so you won’t be having a hard time looking for it. It indicates the power, internet, WiFi, LAN and cellular signal. There’s a WPS/Restore switch up top along the ventilation grills.

 

 

Looking at the back you will see the power port, the single LAN port, an NTC sticker and the steps on how to reload it and the surfing promos you can subscribe to. The mobile number is also written there so you don’t have to remember it.

As of the moment there are only four Globe prepaid promos to choose from

1. GoSURF 50 – 1GB Data for PhP 50.00
2. HomeSURF 15 – 1GB Data for PhP 15.00

4. HomeSURF 599 – 15GB Data for PhP 599.00

The drawback are these data allocation are subject for Globe’s Fair Usage Policy which means it will slow down once you reach a certain point. I won’t be giving an exact number as of the moment because based on my experience it seems like I am exceeding the limit but my internet speed have yet to slow down. So I’m sure that there’s a certain rule before it was triggered. My recommendation for you folks is to not watch extensively on your devices specially on Youtube which videos are not compressed. Also don’t ever try to download 1 GB worth of movies with it because it will  surely trigger that limit. And as Globe explains on their website, you can still surf once you reach these limit but now on the much regulated speed.

Now we will go ahead to what is very important – How fast is Globe AT HOME Prepaid WIFI in Cavite? Now let me get it straight to you the speedtest you will see here are not that impressive compared to the Data speed on Manila. Also this was done on the farther side of Cavite in a subdivision called Lumina Tanza where the signal is really slow.

Now look at that huge difference. Now I can connect my laptop on this WIFI connection and use it just like my PLDT DSL plan back when I was living in Taguig – even FASTER. Yes there is a Data Capping just like what they always say but with our family’s regulated use we haven’t yet passed it. As I observed the data consumption I would say it will even be cheaper compared to the Plan 1299 of PLDT DSL which only offers 5Mbps minus the downloading which I will do elsewhere if you know what I mean. Plus there isn’t even a LTE connection here in our place so imagine if there is. I read on other reviews that it can went up to 20Mbps in LTE capable area and it’s something that I look forward to once this place develope.

My conclusion: From someone living in a subdivision here in Tanza where your Phone can’t even load an Image or watch a video and you know that it will be a long time before a legit DSL connection can come through -YES this is is definitely a great choice simply because you have no other choice to make. But if you think about it, it’s not that bad because at this rate wherein a third major player in Telecommunications business will come into play there is a big chance that the Data capping will be removed or at least be reduced. With that being said then even if there is already a DSL connection here in my subdivision maybe I wouldn’t even need to replace Globe AT HOME Prepaid WIFI. Well, let’s see what happens and I will definitely write it down here so you guys can check.
